My thoughts:

Reading this book was a very bad idea today, maybe one of the worst ideas I have had in a while. You may think that I’ve learned something after reading the first three books in The Royal’s series but it seems that I’ve learned nothing.

This doesn’t mean that it’s a bad book. It’s a great book with an end that makes you pull out your hair.

“I might be small, but I have the lung capacity of a whale, so if you don’t move I’m gonna have to release the oral Kraken until the entire school is in this hallway rescuing me from you.”

Fallen heir left me with a bad taste in my month. Easton is my favorite Royal brother, even with his addiction problems he seemed the most down to earth of the five of them. He is truly sweet and even if he is a manwhore he doesn’t treat the girls bad. He is a genuine friend to Ella and I love him for that. But in Fallen heir it seems that the Royal blood got up to his head and he really believes that he is the center of the universe. Nobody can say no to him, he is just so amazing and can’t understand how someone can prefer the company of other people instead of his. He even gets jealous of Reid because Ella loves him, because until that moment Easton had been the favorite.

“You are drunk. And you broke your promise. You made a bad situation worse. Maybe you had good intentions, but you acted to make yourself feel better. You thought of yourself first and this is what happened.”

Hartley has true problems and doesn’t have the time to deal with a Royal, but Easton keeps pushing and in the end they become friends. But things are never easy with a Royal and Hartley is about to find out how much trouble Easton can bring into her life.

“You’ve caused me nothing but trouble from the moment I met you. So, please, for the love of God, don’t try to help anymore. Don’t help, and definitely don’t fix. You’re not capable of fixing things.” Sadly, she shakes her head. “All you do is break them.”

I will be honest, I was disappointed with this book. I expected something more from Easton, because all the Royals are already screwed to the head, but it’s a limit for everything. This doesn’t mean I won’t read the next book in the series because I can’t wait for it.

“I told you, trouble follows you wherever you go, Easton.”

Easton and Ella relationship is another important theme of this book. It isn’t that easy anymore for them to talk. Easton keeps bringing up Ella’s insecurities when he’s upset with the world and no matter how hard Ella tries to be a good friend and to support Easton it’s in vain. It doesn’t matter how many people love you, if you don’t love yourself life is a dead end.

She pushes on her tiptoes and pats me on the head, like I’m a little puppy. I don’t like that feeling—the one that makes me wonder if Ella thinks I’m five years old.

For those of you who loved Easton, Fallen heir is the book you’ve been waiting for, the chance of getting into his head. It’s an amazing opportunity to see another Royal brother learn some important life lessons.

Her jaw clenched tight, and she began to tremble with the effort.

“Not that way,” he said.

“Then … how!” Her voice was louder than she intended, and he pulled away further into the shadows.

“Wait,” she said, softening her tone. “Don’t go. You have to tell me … about the accident.”

“It’s not important now,” he said, moving forward slightly again, into the candlelight.

“Not important? Then how do you explain this?” She nearly spat the words at him, and he averted his eyes.

“See?” she said. “You can’t even bear to look at me. If the accident didn’t happen, how did I get like this?

My thoughts:

Twisted Palace was one of the most expected books of this season. It’s unfortunately the only good news October brings. I was so excited when it got into my hands, that I wanted to devour it right away, but I had to take a deep breath and wait a few hours before opening the book. I needed to be prepared and after the way the last two books ended I think it was a smart decision. But Twisted Palace didn’t have a strong start, it takes a few chapters until something finally happens. Maybe it was better this way, because I don’t want to have a heart attack at the age of twenty.

I must confess that I let a week pass between the moment I finished Twisted Palace and the moment I began to write this review. It isn’t something I usually do. I think that the best time to write a review is when you finish the book, when the emotions are still raw and you remember every detail. But this time I decided to make an exception because I needed to detach myself from the story. It was a crazy story, that catches you from the beginning and three books are perhaps too much or maybe not enough for it.

I had huge expectation from Twisted Palace, it was hard not to have them when I loved Paper Princess and Broken Prince. And the second book had a mind-blowing ending. Almost always having expectations is a bad thing because the story inside your head isn’t the same as the story the author has their mind. Now, most then before I discovered very annoying characters. Was Reed always so stupid? Ella was supposed to be strong not so easily transformed into a victim. And Gideon is more of an ass than ever; when you make mistakes you suffer the consequences, not blame the others. He seems such a spoiled brat. But I am proud of Easton, he grew so much and he’s a step away from becoming an amazing man. I loved Callum, something I wasn’t expecting. He’s not the soft man he was before and lots of things make sense now. Dinah and Steve’s relationship deserved a little more attentions, I feel that is something missing there and an end that the book didn’t bring. After some chapters I already knew how the book will end, and this isn’t a bad thing because the way Erin Watt built the story was mind blowing. I didn’t read this story, I lived it. It was an amazing experience and I don’t regret it for a second. 

I’m not ready to say goodbye to the Royals, we spent so many good moments together. It was one of those stories that makes you addictive and every new book in the series is a new dose that keeps you walking but in the same time it does bad things to you. This Royals’ life didn’t get to the finish line but maybe it’s time to make the rest of their story in our minds. 

It’s so surreal. I can’t make sense of this. Any of it.

“It’s weird, okay? Let’s just pretend to be—” Reed quirks an eyebrow. “Friends,” I finish, because all the alternatives are too weird. “Pretend? I thought we were friends. I’m hurt.”

My thoughts:

My goal, once upon a time, was to succeed. I didn’t realize that success wasn’t grades or scholarships or achievements, but the people I was lucky enough to have in my life.

In my opinion you can’t finish The Score and not expect The Goal, for those who had read the third book in the series you know it gives a huge spoiler to what it’s about to happen in the next book. I’ve been waiting for some time to know how Sabrina and Tucker’s story will work out.

Thank you Jesus for creating this glorious creature and please Lord, make her not a lesbian.

I fell in love with Ellen Kennedy when I began reading Off-campus series, I don’t know when it happened but it must have been at the very beginning, because I’ve read all the books in the series the moment they were published and all of them are amazing books, those kinds of love stories that are fun and easy and intense all at once. There are so many books about collage and athletes that when you hear about another plot like this you think you won’t discover anything new. Maybe there are common subjects but Ellen's books aren’t what you expect. They are a must read for those who want a good laugh and an ever after love story.

“My mother told me you were gorgeous and smart.” 

“And you said?” 

“That I thought you were a lesbian and Mom replied that maybe you were bi.”

Tucker is definitely the good boy in the pack and I didn’t expect to see him with the bitch, well, Dean says she is heartless but maybe she isn’t. I loved Tucker, it's hard not to, because he was there every time his friends needed support and he is such a sweet boy! This is a strange way to describe a hockey player but it’s true. I also must say that Dean was an ass in this book too.

“This is fucked up. We shouldn’t be allowed to leave the hospital with a kid. I’ve never even had a pet before.”

Sabrina has all her life planed out and a boyfriend or God forbid a baby is not in the picture. But Tucker makes her doubt her decision and for the first time she might want to have a boyfriend. But how is this going to get in her way of finishing Harvard and becoming a lawyer? She has big confidence issues: her mother abandoned her, her Nana isn’t the nicest person in the world and her stepdad is an asshole, so all she wants is to get away from all of this. But then she meets Tucker and she opens that part of her that is sweet and caring. And Tucker is the one who supports her at every turn, I don’t know where you can find men like this or if they ever exist but if they de I want to order one.

So, you’ve applied to Harvard? That’s what Kelly has told me.” Kelly? Do I know a Kelly? “She means me, dear,” Professor Gibson says with a gentle laugh. I blush. “Yes, sorry. I think of you as Prof.”

I hope this isn’t the last book in the series, because it would be very sad if it was. The world needs the fun that Ellen Kennedy brings into our life through the pack of hockey players from Briar University. I enjoyed every book in the Off-Campus Series and the expectations for The Goal were very high, but this book it’s all that we expected and more. Sabrina and Tucker create another epic love story on Briar campus. And I want to share the pleasure of knowing them with as many of you as possible so please go to the library and buy this book!
