New Cover & Excerpt for Slave to Sensation (Psy-Changeling #1) by Nalini Singh!

Amazon US / Amazon UK / B&N / Kobo / iBooks

In a world that denies emotions, where the ruling Psy punish any sign of desire, Sascha Duncan must conceal the feelings that brand her as flawed. To reveal them would be to sentence herself to the horror of "rehabilitation"--the complete psychic erasure of everything she ever was...

Both human and animal, Lucas Hunter is a Changeling hungry for the very sensations the Psy disdain. After centuries of uneasy coexistence, these two races are now on the verge of war over the brutal murders of several Changeling women. Lucas is determined to find the Psy killer who butchered his packmate, and Sascha is his ticket into their closely guarded society. But he soon discovers that this ice-cold Psy is very capable of passion--and that the animal in him is fascinated by her. Caught between their conflicting worlds, Lucas and Sascha must remain bound to their identities--or sacrifice everything for a taste of darkest temptation...

Promo Blitz and Giveaway! Five: Out Of The Dark by Holli Anderson

Young Adult Urban Fantasy
 photo add-to-goodreads-button_zpsc7b3c634.png

Five teenagers who've recently discovered they have magical powers and are living in the Seattle underground feel it's their responsibility to protect unsuspecting humans from otherworldly foes. Things are going well until Johnathan, their unofficial leader and the boy sixteen year old Paige is in love with, is bitten by a changeling - the venomous saliva causing him to metamorphose into a ravening beast with each full moon. Paige vows that, no matter the cost, she will find a way to cure Johnathan of the evil that has embedded itself in his soul. Johnathan's monthly transformation and daily personality roller coaster isn't the only problem they have to deal with. The Five are also gearing up to face their toughest and most dangerous enemy yet-a powerful and ruthless Warlock who will go to any means, including high school, to build his Dark Army.

Little blue sparks of electricity gathered at my fingertips. That should have scared me, or at least aroused my curiosity. But the scene playing out before me pushed away all other emotions except anger. Intense, red-hot anger.

I recognized the three boys from school―future serial killers, to be sure. The trio had Sadie tied to a tree. Her usually silky black coat was covered in dirt and pine needles.

One of the boys―Justin was his name; we had History together―looked up at me. “Hey, look. It’s the preacher’s daughter. Maybe we can try it on her next.” He hocked a loogy and spit at my whimpering dog.

They all laughed.

Sadie yelped as one boy held her tail up while a greasy haired boy knelt behind her holding a flaming lighter. He moved it closer to the firecracker they’d shoved in her behind. I could smell the singe of her fur. A fresh flurry of electric anger pushed its way out through my fingertips. My hair flew about my head, gathering more of the little blue bolts.

Then, I lost it. Completely lost it. I pointed at the boy with the lighter and let loose all of my anger and fear.

“Get Away!” I screamed, and with those two simple words, that fear and anger formed into something tangible and strong. An unseen force rammed into that sadistic boy with the power of an NFL linebacker. He flew into the tree directly behind him. The breath was knocked clean out of him. His brave, dog-torturing friends looked at him, then at me, then they high-tailed it out of there, leaving their fallen friend in a moaning, gasping heap on the forest floor.

Holli Anderson has a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing--which has nothing to do with writing, except maybe by adding some pretty descriptive injury and vomit scenes to her books. She discovered her joy of writing during a very trying period in her life when escaping into make-believe saved her. She enjoys reading any book she gets her hands on, but has a particular love for anything fantasy.
Along with her husband, Steve, and their four sons, she lives in Grantsville, Utah--the same small town in which she grew up.

Happy Release Day! The Siege of Kadenburg by T.E. Aidener

iBooks  /  Kobo  /  Barnes&Noble

When you live in a town like Kadenburg, you’re just looking for trouble if you ask “Could it get any worse?”

No one has seen hide nor hair of Breslin Connor in over a month, and Presley begins to feel safe. With her future looking a little brighter, she finally allows herself to relax and enjoy being back in the place she’s belonged all along, with the man she was meant to be with. However, as the old adage says, ‘All good things must come to an end.’

Presley starts having dreams about Lorcan’s deceased brother and he claims she is a ‘chosen one’ of Urseth. He reveals the past to her and the truth about why her father really died on that fateful night so many years ago. She soon discovers that everyone’s destiny has been carefully interwoven with the fate of Kadenburg, and she’s right in the middle of it.

No one is safe. New and shocking faces alike emerge from the darkness, causing the ursithropes to question who they can trust in the town they’ve always called home. Boundaries will be tested, lines will be crossed, and the humans will become suspicious. Will Presley and her family be able to stop Breslin’s loyal pack from claiming Kadenburg? Or will the sadistic werewolf finally get what he wants…including her?

IN THE SERIES

T.E. Ridener entered the world in the magnificent year of 1985. She's an avid reader, crazy writer, and photoshop addict. She started writing stories at a young age, and will probably do so until she takes her last breath. Forever the daydreamer, not a day passes in which Miss Ridener isn't working on something book related. Her books may be a work of fiction, but there is a lot of truth in each one.
Creating relatable characters and believable storylines mixed in with make-believe is what she is best known for. She always includes a strong female lead, a compassionate male, and tons of every day events that readers will be able to connect with. Miss Ridener is a lover of music, movies, TV shows, and her family.
During the months of November and December, she participates in the charity she helped create called Random Acts of Christmas, an online program geared towards making Christmas happen for families in need. In 2013, they gave over $69,000 in gifts to kids who otherwise would not have had presents to open on Christmas morning. Coming from a childhood of poverty, T.E. understands that life isn't always easy and she has experienced living from paycheck to paycheck. This has fueled her drive to always lend a helping hand in every form possible. She is very active in the group "Books for Troops", a program designed to send ebooks and paperbacks to soldiers currently serving overseas.
T.E. Ridener is the youngest of 3 children, a surviving twin, and an extremely proud aunt. She claims to be married to her books and the characters she creates are her kids. Thus far, she has produced three ongoing series entitled Blood Betrayal (vampires), The Kadenburg Shifters Series (bear-shifters), and The Descendants (elementals). There are loads more and new ones popping up each day. She LOVES her fans and readers, and not a single one of them appear as a number to her. She knows that without them, she wouldn't be where she is today. Every day is a new possibility, a new adventure, and a new dream. Life doesn't get any better than that.

Review! Dragon Bound, Elder Races #1, by Thea Harrison

Half-human and half-Wyr, Pia Giovanni spent her life keeping a low profile among the Wyrkind and avoiding the continuing conflict between them and their Dark Fae enemies. But after being blackmailed into stealing a coin from the hoard of a dragon, Pia finds herself targeted by one of the most powerful—and passionate—of the Elder Races.
As the most feared and respected of the Wyrkind, Dragos Cuelebre cannot believe someone had the audacity to steal from him, much less succeed. And when he catches the thief, Dragos spares her life, claiming her as his own to further explore the desire they've ignited in each other.
Pia knows she must repay Dragos for her trespass, but refuses to become his slave—although she cannot deny wanting him, body and soul.

      My thoughts ...

Let me tell you from the beginning that I love dragon books. I devour every single novel on this theme that I can get my hands on. I have a few books/series that I like but Elder Races is my favourite.

Pia Giovanni has been blackmailed into stealing from Dragos Cuelebre’s hoard by her ex boyfriend and this is how she found herself on the run from one of the most powerful creatures in the world.

Dragos is the only dragon in existence and the most ancient creature. He’s the lord of the Wyr demesne and no one steals from him and lives to tell the tale.

No one except a beautiful woman who seems to get under his skin even when she’s not there.
Let me tell you a little bit about the world created by the talented Thea Harrison since this is the first installment in the series.

In the Elder Races books we come across a large variety of creatures such as dragons, elves, fae, djinns, vampires, gryphons, gargoyles, thunderbirds, harpies, and weres of any kind.
They live alongside humans and have a power structure of their own.
The United States, where most of the stories are based, are divided in seven demesnes superimposed over the human geographical map.

In Dragon Bound we get to learn about the Wyr demesne based in New York and a little bit about the Elven demesne based in Charleston.

Anyway, Pia’s actions have a series of consequences that make this book a fun and enthralling read so much so that you won’t be able to put it down.

Dragos, for the first time in his life, is intrigued by someone and his reactions to Pia are hard to understand. He breaks all kinds of rules and he’s ready to face any danger if it means he’ll have her in his life.
Pia has been taught by her mother to always be careful, to trust no one and never get involved with anyone. The day she stole a penny from the dragon’s lair she’s broke all her mother’s rules and now he’s hell bent of learning the truth about what and who she is and he won’t take no for an answer.

Together, they are combustible, funny as hell and a force to be recon with.
Some of the situations are downright hysterical and seeing Dragos struggling with his feelings will make you laugh out loud.

Here are some examples:

“I am cursed with a terminal case ofcuriosity,” he said. “I am jealous, selfish, acquisitive, territorial and possessive. I have a terrible temper, and I know I can be a cruel son of a bitch.” He cocked his head. “I used to eat people, you know.”
If he meant to shock her out of crying, he succeeded. A snort burst out of her. “That’s awful,” she said.
Her nose was clogged. “I mean it, that’s awful. It’s not funny. I’m not laughing.”

“So, is that your long, scaly, reptilian tail, or are you just happy to see me?”
No, she did not just say that.
Did she? She cringed in mortification, screwed her eyes shut and waited to be splattered all over the beach.
Nothing happened, good or bad. Yet. Maybe if she kept her eyes closed it wouldn’t.
She whispered through shaking lips, “I didn’t mean to say that. Um, pay no attention to the lunatic inhabiting this body.”

She leaned forward and staggered, as she confided in a whisper, “You’re the sexiest guy I’ve ever seen too. You know, your long, scaly, reptilian tail really is bigger than anybody else’s. Not that I’ve been with very many guys. Or was comparison shopping or anything.” She hiccuped and watched him worriedly as he guffawed. “Have I just gone over a conversational cliff?”
“Pretty much,” he said.

And I could go on and on, and on. Trust me, this book is worth reading. Actually, the entire series is worth reading and Dragos and Pia will convince you of that.

Thea did an amazing job and created a fascinating world. One of the best series I’ve read.

Happy Reading!

Blog Tour! Seven Years by Dannika Dark

Available for purchase at:

Seven years ago, my world ended.
Seven years later, my new life began.

It's been seven years since Lexi Knight lost her brother in a tragic accident. On the anniversary of his death, her brother's best friend shows up unexpectedly - a man she hasn't seen since the funeral. He is no longer the boy Lexi once knew, but a dangerous-looking man with tattoos and dark secrets. He broke her trust and abandoned her family, yet what he reveals makes it impossible to stay angry. Lexi has been secretly infatuated with Austin since childhood, so finding out he's a Shifter just makes him sexier. Dammit.

Austin Cole has returned to the city where he grew up, and just in time. He's lived a hard life these past seven years, and the shadows of his past are threatening to destroy Lexi's family. It's time that she learned the truth about her brother, but there is a shocking twist that Austin never saw coming. Now he must protect her family when her mother and sister wind up in mortal danger. Will Lexi learn to accept the truth about who he is, and can Austin salvage a relationship from the ruins of their past?

The closer I snuggled up to Austin, the more I craved that cozy familiarity—more than I would have cared to admit. I’d missed him. How do you not miss someone who was a huge chunk of your childhood and young-adult life who disappeared off the face of the earth? Almost every memory I had from kindergarten to age twenty involved Austin Cole.

The next thing I knew, my cheek rested on his bicep and I tucked my body against his like a puzzle piece.
Just when I closed my heavy eyelids, he groaned.

Oh God, please don’t let him wake up now.

It was deep and guttural, and he shifted on his right side, facing me.

“You okay?” he murmured.

I didn't reply. I played dead and pretended I was asleep. It seemed like a good plan to avoid the embarrassment of explaining why I was latched on to him like a man-sucking leech.

A rough, warm hand cupped my cheek and I felt him scoot down a little. Maybe he thought I had fallen asleep, because his thumb brushed over my right eyelid softly.

Five times. I counted.

When his lips lightly touched mine, my brain just shut down. It was a soft, almost nonexistent kiss, but I felt it all the way down to my toes. Then it zinged back up to my hips and damn if I didn't moan.

Now we were both aware I wasn't asleep and he was kissing me. But it didn't stop. His kiss pressed a little bit harder and tingles roared through my body, and my breath was shaky and erratic.

When his tongue touched my lip, I quickly opened my mouth and kissed him back.

Hard.

Deep.

Kissed him like I’d fantasized about doing for the last seven years.

This is the segment where you learn a little more about who I am, so here's what I can tell you:  I drink copious amounts of vitamin water placed precariously close to my laptop while writing. These are two healthy habits I have no intention of breaking. I'm a transplant living in the south, but I was born in the 70's to a military dad who moved us around the world.

When I'm not writing (which is all the time), I'm hunting down Indie music, watching movies, reading, eating Tex-Mex, discovering new ways to humiliate myself bowling, and burning up my laptop battery on the Internet. I have a relaxed, easy-going personality and don't like drama. I live with a cat who thinks she is a dog, or a goat (she eats plastic, so I'm not sure which).

Throughout my life, I've had insomnia. Counting sheep never worked and eventually I would imagine those sheep were the sole source of food after an apocalyptic battle where only thousands survived. I made up stories in a futile attempt to bore myself to sleep. The problem was, I got so wrapped up in my "head stories" that I would continue them through the following nights, changing it up each time to make it more exciting. Eventually, I started writing my ideas down - creating short stories, and then I discovered my love for poetry.

It's almost embarrassing how many spiral notebooks and stacks of paper I have of poetry and lyrics.

Another passion: digital art. I design all my book covers, marketing, and series art. I'm a very visual person and pursued photography as an avid hobby for many years.

I am not a YA author (I feel like I have to state this only because I've had a few people ask), but I think it's wonderful there are so many books available to teens in Urban Fantasy and Paranormal.

I am finally doing what I have always wanted to do: giving my characters a pulse through writing full time. I focus on adult urban fantasy romance, but I don't like labels and I enjoy blending genres to break out of the confines of predictability.

But it's what I love to do.

Danni

E luni. Ce mai citim?

Nu imi vine sa cred cat de mult imi place aceasta serie, o recomand cu mare caldura tuturor fanilor Harry Potter.

Demonglass (Hex Hall #2)
de Rachel Hawkins

Sophie Mercer thought she was a witch. That was the whole reason she was sent to Hex Hall, a reform school for delinquent Prodigium (a.k.a. witches, shape-shifters, and faeries). But then she discovered the family secret, and the fact that her hot crush, Archer Cross, is an agent for The Eye, a group bent on wiping Prodigium off the face of the earth.

Turns out, Sophie's a demon, one of only two in the world-the other being her father. What's worse, she has powers that threaten the lives of everyone she loves. Which is precisely why Sophie decides she must go to London for the Removal, a dangerous procedure that will either destroy her powers for good-or kill her.

But once Sophie arrives, she makes a shocking discovery. Her new housemates? They're demons too. Meaning, someone is raising demons in secret, with creepy plans to use their powers, and probably not for good. Meanwhile, The Eye is set on hunting Sophie down, and they're using Archer to do it. But it's not like she has feelings for him anymore. Does she?

Primul volum din serie este aparut in Romania la Editura Litera. Voi ce mai cititi?
