-LUCY-
There is a love so fierce it cannot be measured.
A heart so strong it will never slow.
There is a promise so sure it can never lie.
He promised me that love forever.
Even when it wasn't enough.
-CAMERON-
Forever. Everlasting. Eternal.
There is no measure of time.
No sounds of the ticking of a clock.
Just the rising and falling of the sun.
And our own sense of forever.
But our forever isn't always.
This is one of the best books I’ve read in a long time and I loved every single minute of it. It has everything; sadness, loss, pain, tears, anger and love. Most of all, love.
More Than Forever is Lucy and Cameron’s story. Their journey from friends to lovers and beyond.
They meet at the age of fifteen, when a terrible tragedy strikes Lucy’s family and Cameron is there to pick up the pieces, helping her get through everything. That’s how everything starts and let me tell you, there’s nothing boring about those two.
Do you remember when you were their age? The flutter in your stomach at the sight of your crush. The first kiss. All those awkward moments when neither one of you knew how to behave.
Well, Jay Mclean didn’t left anything out. I don’t ever remember when was the last time I laughed so much while reading a book.
I don’t know what to tell you without going into spoiler territory. The writing style is really god and the story flows. You won’t be able to put it down.
I’ve been trying really hard to select a couple of quotes just to give you an idea about what’s going on in this novel but it was so damn hard to chose because there wasn’t a thing that I didn’t liked. It’s THAT good!
Here’s one example. This conversation was so damn hilarious.
"Something's wrong with my d**k.""WHAT!"
I shut the door and tell him to keep it down."I'm panicking here, kid. What the hell?""You should be panicking! I'm panicking. Something's wrong with my d**k."His voice rises. "What the hell does that mean? What happened to it?""Lucy touched it and she—""Lucy touched your thing?" he shouts.I pick up the nearest thing I can reach and throw it at his head; a piece of paper. "Keep your voice down, jerk. Mom doesn't need to hear about my broken d**k!""It's broken!" he shouts again.
Here’s another one.
Curling my fingers around his shorts, I make a show of pulling them down and freeing him. Then my eyes widen. "Oh.""What?"
"It's just—""Well it's not hard, Luce, what did you expect?""I know. I just didn't expect it to be so small.""Fuck you," he says, but he's laughing.
And I could go on and on. I pretty sure I’ll re-read this book in the near future. Actually, the entire series is brilliant and you should definitely read it as soon as possible.
Good job, Jay!!
Happy Reading!
