I agree with what so many others have said, this is SUCH a difficult question!! There are several that stand out for me, though, ones that I've read over and over and over.... like The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by CS Lewis; Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte; Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte; and A Light in August by William Faulkner. Love all of them -- and gobs more!!! :)
