The World of Ascension came as a result of a lot of ‘what if’s’. What if Mortal Earth (our earth) was the first of a series of dimensional worlds, same geographical earth, but different dimensions? What if there were six dimensional worlds in all, each involving greater personal powers than the one before? What if the second dimension was the beginning of the world of the vampire so that when a mortal, like you and me, ascended to the second dimension that person also received certain attributes of the mythological vampire?

Then came the tough questions: what were vampires like in this world and to what extent did ascended vampires resemble and differ from the vampires of myth? In the end, the darkest spectrum of vampire on Second Earth is the death vampire, and resembles the more traditional vampire, in this case with an addiction to dying blood. That blood can only be reached at the point of death for the victim, so it is a truly heinous proposition. Dying blood is also highly addictive and the addiction is irreversible. Once dying blood is taken into a vampire’s body, there is no known antidote, no going back, no recalling the terrible decision.

Because of the killing nature of dying blood, death vampires are hunted down and destroyed. In the World of Ascension, two types of warriors hunt death vampires; the famed Warriors of the Blood and the less powerful but equally committed army of Militia Warriors.
