Dar asta s-a intamplat inainte ca familia ei sa decida sa se mute la Wenham, Massachusetts. Ei si fratilor ei li s-a ordonat sa aiba grija de sora lor mai mica si trebuie sa se intoarca si la liceu. Aici Sophia il intalneste pe Nathanial, sufletul ei pereche si lumea asa cum o stie ea e pe cale sa se schimbe.
Fiind vampir, Sophia a fost mereu retinuta, dar ca eleva la liceu va putea ea sa iasa din sfera ei? Sophia a gasit un prieten foarte bun intr-o puternica vrajitoare si o iubire pe care o poate numi a ei. Asta pana in momentul in care se intampla ceva tragic. Va putea ea sa reziste miresmei dulci a sangelui iubitului ei?
